Like other 4-H projects, Shooting Sports has a subject matter base. It has strong links to natural resources, wildlife, outdoor recreation and safety. The content is drawn from sports medicine, psychology, education, biological and physical sciences, engineering, mathematics, technology, as well as American traditions, folklore and history.
New participants are welcome but they need to sign up in September with the 4H extension office at the Kenosha County Center; (262) 909-3636. The program begins again in February 2006. Southport wishes these young shooters well and enthusiastically invites them back again next year. If you have an interest in being a Shooting Sports leader, the 4-H provides a training program that is required. For more information, call the 4-H Extension office at (262) 653-1945.
