Rimfire Rifle Shooting Leagues
Southport sponsors the S.E. Wisconsin Rifle Association on Thursdays during the fall and winter season. Competitors shoot here and at the newly improved range in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Match fees are collected each week.
The course of fire includes 10 rounds each in prone, sitting, kneeling and standing positions. 10 minutes are allowed in prone and sitting; 15 minutes in kneeling and standing. These shoots are great social events and usually end in a pizza party at local restaurants.
The team is always looking for new shooters, especially young people, to join them. A number of universities offer scholarships to Junior Shooters for recruitment to compete on their collegiate rifle teams.
