2007 WISCONSIN STATE INDOOR PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Southport Masters sponsors the Wisconsin State Indoor Pistol Championships on a rotational basis. Having run the match for the last three years, the Wisconsin Rifle and Pistol Association will likely award the honor to another club in the State this next year. The Championship is an “1800” (perfect score) event with competitors shooting 90 rounds each of .22 cal and Centerfire handguns. Although many shooters prefer .32 or .38 caliber pistols or revolvers, the State Champion must be a WRPA member and fire a .45 caliber pistol to take the title. The course of fire includes Slow, Timed and Rapid sequences at a distance of 50 feet, as in most indoor Conventional Pistol competitions. Paul Baumann (pictured, left) has officiated as Southport’s Match Director for a number of years. His leadership always provides a well organized event that further supports the financial income of the club. A portion of the Championship fees also helps the NRA and the WRPA.
