| This
is an annual NRA sanctioned competition and only Southport Gun Club has
the appropriate turning targets in the state of Wisconsin to be able to
sponsor such an event. |
The
Sectional is comprised of four shooting matches and a fifth match for total
score aggregate. Three of the matches, Slow, Timed and Rapid-fire exercises,
include two targets each. The fourth match is called a Gallery or NMC (National
Match Course) and consists of one each Slow, Timed and Rapid-fire targets.
Ten shots are fired at each target for a total of 90 rounds. Although
some prefer revolvers, nearly all shooters now use semi-auto pistols and
illusion (red dot) type sites. |
Competitors
must be NRA classified and shoot against others of the same classification;
Marksman, Sharpshooter, Expert and Master. Awards are presented to 1st,
2nd and 3rd place shooters. |
